The Danish government has published details outlining five specific welfare benefits that are off-limits to foreign nationals holding an Establishment Card and their accompanying family members.
According to official guidance issued by Danish authorities, Establishment Card holders are barred from receiving cash benefits, self-sufficiency and return benefits, transition benefits, rehabilitation benefits, and graduate allowances.
The Establishment Card is a residency permit issued by Denmark that allows skilled foreign nationals to remain in the country after completing their studies or employment to pursue business and entrepreneurial ventures.
Authorities clarified that while the permit grants legal residency, cardholders are expected to remain financially self-sufficient without relying on state support systems reserved for permanent residents.
