The deputy senate president, Barau Jibril, has received about 5,000 defectors from the Kwankwasiyya Movement to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a grand event in Kano.
Addressing the gathering on Tuesday in Kano, the deputy senate president described the ruling APC as the right party for them judging by the number of federal government projects in the state.
He mentioned that earlier in the same day, he was in Kabo local government area to join the people of the area in thanking the president for the Federal University of Science and Technology Kabo established for them.
“In addition to these, about 500 housing units are currently under construction, the North West Commission was established with Headquarters in Kano in addition to other several community-based projects.
“I want to express gratitude to all of you as we receive you into our great party the APC. The truth is that whenever God Almighty intends to make your life better, he directs you towards where you will achieve it and I believe He has brought you people into this party to make life better for you.
“You can see from the reality of this our great party that it is building while the party you left is demolishing.
“You have the story to tell as to how many people have died, some have lost their wealth and some have even become possessed as a result of the wrong doings of the Kwankwasiyya Movement you left.
“People refer to that confusion as Kwankwasiyya (supporters of Kwankwaso), whereas, in reality, it is Kwan-kwa-tsiya (generating poverty).
“The APC has done a lot of things in favour of Kano State and it is time for payback. We should all join hands to support our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,”
he stated.
