Akinremi, popularly known as Jagaban, died in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja after a brief illness.

The Deputy Speaker, in a condolence message contained in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, expressed profound grief at the loss, recalling the contributions of the late lawmaker to nation-building through legislative interventions and policies.

He noted that Akinremi, until his demise, was a detribalised Nigerian who worked to serve the interest of Nigerians.

Kalu said the ranking lawmaker was dedicated and committed to the development of his constituency and the country as a whole.
