Director-general Institute of Leadership Assessment and Development of Nigeria, Dr Baba Ransome Adamu, has applauded President Ahmed Bola Tinubu over last Thursday’s victory at the Supreme Court.
In a statement yesterday, Adamu urged Tinubu to look at the manifestos of the opposition presidential candidates and adopt the ones that will benefit the citizens and the country to make Nigeria great again, adding that posterity will judge him justly.
He said, “Your previous years of public service, you have demonstrated a consistent will to progressive and welfarist ideals, and an ability to build bridges across the country.
“These attributes are needed especially at this time, to reach out to all sections of our country to meet the aspirational expectations of our young people who have shown a strong desire to impact our democratic process in a positive way.”
He further urged the president to “give the chief of defence staff the support he needs to stamp out insecurity under your able leadership to modernise the military, improve its funding as well as provide more accommodation for officers and soldiers.
“We urged the federal government to take as a priority the modernisation of the armed forces, treatment of wounded soldiers, foreign training, improved funding, issues of training and accommodation for personnel and officers.
“We want to commend the effort of Defence Headquarters (DHQ) under the leadership of General Christopher Musa for boosting the morale of troops and for the surrendering of over 140,000 terrorists, that is to say they are doing up to expectation in their duty to preserve Nigeria,” he added.
