The VC endorsed the summit during a courtesy visit by Miss Destiny April Goldman, the current ‘Miss UniAbuja’, to her office on Tuesday.

‘The CEO in Her’ is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at bridging the gender gap in the technology sector. It plans to train 100 female students in various tech disciplines, including Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Software Management, Coding, and Digital Marketing. The project marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind within the Nigerian university landscape.

Miss Goldman expressed her vision for the project, emphasising its role in empowering women to significantly contribute to the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector both in Nigeria and globally. She highlighted the necessity of such initiatives to foster gender inclusivity and ensure that women are well-represented in the nation’s tech space and beyond.

Prof. Maikudi lauded Miss Goldman for her innovative thinking and commitment to gender equity. She pledged the university’s full support, including providing a conducive environment for the three-month training program. The Vice Chancellor also encouraged female students at the institution to actively participate in the summit and seize the unique opportunity it offers.
