The announcement came after health authorities confirmed the containment of the recent diphtheria outbreak that disrupted academic activities in the area.

In a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the chairman, Dike Godspower, Hon. Alaribe reassured residents of the safety measures in place.

He said, “The health and safety of our children remain our top priority. With clear reports from our health workers and school administrators indicating that the situation is under control, we believe it is now safe to reopen our schools. To prevent any recurrence of the disease, the council mandated strict compliance with health protocols.

“Among the measures is the requirement for all students to present valid vaccination records before being admitted back into classrooms.
