Bauchi group of young political gladiators under the aegis of Kauran Bauchi Frontiers, have challenged former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara to explain in clear terms how he facilitated the emergence of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as the governor of Bauchi State in the 2019 general election.
A statement signed by the Kaura Frontiers chairman, Hon Musa Zango yesterday in Bauchi said, “In 2019 elections where the group claimed Dogara installed Bala as governor we challenge Dogara and his co-travellers to come out and mention how he was instrumental to the emergence of Kauran Bauchi as governor?”
The group argued that Dogara only has one vote equal to that of Ladi Mai Kosai. It said that the 2019 election that brought Kauran Bauchi into power was a collective Movement with governor Bala Mohammad as the commander, so for Dogara to take credit is a slap in the faces of the electorate who voted for Kaura as their governor.
According to Musa Zango, without Dogara’s support Kaura was elected in 2023 with a superior vote despite ganging up against him by Dogara and others.
The group added that Dogara is, from all indications, trying to play God by saying he is instrumental to Senator Bala’s emergence as governor. Therefore, the group advised Dogara and his cohorts to learn from the Holy Book that only God gives power to whom he likes.
It also debunked the claim that Dogara brought peace in Tafawa Balewa LGA, saying “The lasting peace in that area was as a result of legislation approval of relocation of the Tafawa Balewa Local Government headquarters to Bununu during the administration of former Gov. Isa Yuguda.”
The frontiers who claimed have membership of more than 40,000 people said, “Every citizen of Tafawa Balewa is living peacefully with one another irrespective of tribe or religion, now for Dogara to take credit only to expose his ego for power.”
Hon. Musa Zango stated, “We are challenging the so called Dogara group and their sponsor(s)to a debate on the number of beneficiaries of Dogara Poverty Alleviation Programme, scholarship for students, and the appointments secured for the constituency”.
