The Super Parents Foundation, an initiative that focuses on supporting vulnerable persons especially parents of children with disabilities has expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club of Lagos, District 9110 for donating mobility aid supplies to the foundation.
The Rotary Club of Lagos, District 9110 at the weekend donated wheelchairs, elbow crutches, armpit crutches, specialty walkers, walking sticks, and walkers to the Foundation located at Ogba Aguda, Lagos.
The founder and president of the Super Parents Foundation, Barr. Mofoluwasho Liasu at the weekend expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club of Lagos and stated that the foundation is grateful and delighted to receive the mobility aid because it is not easy for persons with disabilities or children with disabilities to thrive in this competitive environment.
She said, ‘‘People who have trouble moving around need mobility aids like wheelchairs and walkers, which the Rotary Club of Lagos and its partner, Crutches 4 Africa donated, and in our opinion, this will lessen some of the challenges.’’
Liasu used the opportunity to exhort other groups to follow in the footsteps of the Rotary Club and never lose sight of the fact that there are people with disabilities living in our society. Because not only was this a problem but there was also a lack of awareness of this issue, we want people to be aware that there are people with disabilities in society.
The second vice president, Rotary Club of Lagos, Toki Mabogunje, said the club’s current initiatives are in line with its stated service priorities. And to achieve this, we that is the purpose we visited the Super Parents Foundation, which donates mobility aids to children with cerebral palsy and other people with disabilities to support and assist them.
She believes that doing so will significantly improve the beneficiaries’ quality of life. And as Rotary International has served communities around the world for more than 110 years, the Rotary Club of Lagos has been doing the same since independence, she assured everyone that the club will continue to do things that will make our world a better place.
