Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Imo State Police Command, DSP Henry Okoye who confirmed the incident, said that police operatives were on the ground to ensure order.

“Yes, the DPO and his men are already on the ground to ensure order, those corpses are removed and there is free-flow of traffic. We are on top of the situation,” the PPRO said.

LEADERSHIP reports that there was heavy downpour around 5pm resulting in road users scampering to beat traffic gridlock..

A source attributed the accident to poor visibility and impatience during the rainfall.
