In a deliberate effort to foster inclusivity and provide a sense of belonging for individuals with disabilities, the Dr. Krystal Chanchangi Foundation has organised a Para-Soccer tournament featuring two teams competing for a cash prize.
The match took place at the basketball court of the Old Parade Ground, Area 10 Garki, Abuja, drawing an enthusiastic crowd. The event was celebrated with music, dance, and special awards recognising outstanding athletes within the disability community.
“We are committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting inclusivity through sports,” said Dr. Krystal Chanchangi, the founder of the foundation, shortly after the match.
She emphasised that everyone has a role to play, especially Nigerians in the diaspora, in uplifting individuals from less privileged backgrounds.
“There is no better way to give back to society than by taking actions that help people realise their full potential,” she stated.
“We all have a part to play in our own small ways. It’s time for those of us abroad to return, give back, and uplift our people. Change doesn’t begin with policies—it begins with people,” she added.
Dr. Chanchangi expressed the foundation’s commitment to building an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of physical ability, can thrive. She noted that through partnerships with similar organisations, the foundation will continue to create opportunities that empower others.
