Dennis Graham, the father of global rap star Drake, has clarified his health status following widespread concern sparked by lyrics on his son’s newly released album, Iceman.
On the track titled “Make Them Cry,” Drake suggested his father was currently battling a serious health crisis, rapping: “My dad got cancer right now, we battlin’ stages.” The lyrics led many fans to believe Graham was undergoing treatment for the ailment.
However, speaking with reporters in West Hollywood on Friday, Graham debunked the claim, stating that he is not currently fighting the disease. He explained that although he battled lung cancer several years ago, he has since made a full recovery.
“Doctors recently confirmed that the cancer had cleared up completely,” Graham stated, describing his recovery as a miracle.
He reassured the public that he is in good health and has taken steps to improve his lifestyle, including significantly reducing his smoking habits.
Iceman is one of three studio projects released by Drake this week, marking his first major musical output since 2023.
