Fast-rising gospel artiste Utubu Abba David popularly known as Abbadsinger has credited his early exposure to praise and worship sessions as the foundation for his passion for gospel music.
In an interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday, the singer recounted how being immersed in church activities stirred his love for worship and shaped his path in gospel music.
“From a young age, I was deeply involved in church activities, starting as a dancer and leading the Young King David Dancers (YKDD). This early exposure to worship and praise ignited a passion for gospel music, leading me to fully embrace music ministry in 2011.
According to the Cross River State born artist,he gets inspired by artists who blend deep spiritual messages with captivating melodies,while he appreciates secular artists who convey profound emotions through their music, regardless of genre.
On his musical style he said “My musical style is a fusion of contemporary gospel with traditional African rhythms. I aim to create songs that resonate spiritually while celebrating our rich cultural heritage.
So far Abbadsinger has released several singles, including: “Risen King” – An Easter melody reflecting on Revelation 1:18. “My Yaweh”a powerful song emphasizing God’s covenant-keeping nature, and “All
The Glory” – A heartfelt worship song giving all honor to God.

Abbadsinger hopes to collaborate with notable gospel acts and looks forward to dream collaboration gospel music star Dunsin Oyekan.
On his future ambitions he said,”In five years, I envision expanding my ministry globally, producing more spirit-filled music, and mentoring upcoming gospel artists to fulfill their divine purposes.
Abbadsinger while offering words of encouragement to aspiring gospe musicians,shared “Stay true to your calling, remain humble, and prioritize your relationship with God. Seek mentorship, be diligent in your craft, and always remember that ministry is about service, not fame.”
