Governor-elect of Ebonyi State, Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has assured the leadership and members of the Labour Party (LP) of his determination to run an all-inclusive government.
Nwifuru who is the speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly made the declaration when the leadership of the party in the state led by the governorship candidate, Edward Nkwagu, paid him a visit in his official residence.
While thanking the Labour Party officials, he commended their courage and determination for a better and unified Ebonyi State, adding that adopting him as their preferred candidate before the election was done out of their believe and trust in him.
“Let me assure you that you will all work together with me in his government. Your move to adopt me as your gubernatorial candidate proved that you have a wider picture of politics.
“It made me stand strong and weakened my opponents psychologically. Even if you did not vote for me, that singular act of adopting me is enough. You made an adoption and God answered your prayers. It is a must that I will accommodate you people in my government because you worked for it.
“I am not going to be a governor of one or two persons. I’ll be governor for all because the people’s taxes that I’ll manage is for everyone. I know that managing failure is easier than managing success, but I’ll make you proud,” he said.
Earlier, Nkwagu said they were fulfilled with the outcome of the election, hence their visit to congratulate him.
