Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has suspended the state commissioner for works, Mr Stanley Mbam and that of infrastructure development for concession, Mr Obasi, over dereliction of duties.

The suspensions are contained in a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Dr Monday Uzor and made available to newsmen yesterday.

The governor, in the statement, directed the affected officials to handover all government property in their possession including their official vehicles to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

“This directive is with immediate effect,” the statement read.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there had been outcry in some quarters over the poor and delayed delivery of various projects across the state. (NAN)
