Ebuka Amobi Foundation Concludes Education Empowerment For Imo Students

The Ebuka Amobi Foundation has successfully concluded its Education Empowerment Initiative Project, aimed at empowering Imo State students.

The project manager, Ambassador Kennedy Asuzu, disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri.
He recalled that the project was flagged off in September with student registrations and culminated in a grand finale and award ceremony in December at Star Arrival Hotel, Owerri.

Asuzu also highlighted that among the event’s dignitaries were teachers, parents, guardians, and stakeholders, including Hon. Engr. Obinna Ukanwa, Special Adviser to the Imo Governor on Primary Education; Rev. Fr. Dr Wilfred Nwachukwu, Director of Education, Owerri Catholic Archdiocese; and Rev. Sister Mbagwu, Principal of Madonna Model Secondary School, Owerri. Stakeholder representatives from some notable organisations were also present.

The project Manager noted that the highlight of the event was the cash award ceremony, where winners in each category received their prizes:

For the Primary Category “1st Position: Marvin Gogo (Excellent Height Hub Academy, Owerri) – ₦200,000 – 2nd Position: Sunday Ronnie (Pearville Primary School, Owerri) – ₦150,000 – 3rd Position: Anyiam Miracle (Limitless Primary School) – ₦100,000.”

The Secondary Category “- 1st Position: Chukwuocha Chimdindu (Bethel College, Mbaise) – ₦350,000 – 2nd Position: Ibegbulem Chinemerem Justin (Madonna Model Secondary School, Owerri) – ₦250,000 – 3rd Position: Obi Uchendu Benedict of Marist brothers international school orlu- ₦150,000.”

The tertiary Category includes “- 1st Position: Nzubechi Maduagwu (Federal University of Technology, Owerri) ₦500,000 – 2nd Position: Ifemelam Chimchetam (Imo State University, Owerri)₦350,000 – 3rd Position: Andrew Nicholas (Imo State University, Owerri) ₦250,000.”

Speaking further about the foundation’s plan, Asuzu announced that the 2nd edition of the initiative will commence early next year.

“We shall continue to promote quality education in our state, empower and encourage young brilliant students, and take back to school the out-of-school children,” we have cued into one of the 17 goals of the United Nations sustainable development goals with a focus on SDG 4, quality education.

“The Ebuka Amobi Foundation remains committed to supporting the education sector in Imo State and promoting academic excellence among students”.
