The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has announced the commencement of applications for multiple job vacancies across its institutions.

This was disclosed on the organisation’s official website, which invited qualified candidates from ECOWAS member states to apply for positions across a wide range of sectors.

According to the regional body, the available roles cut across key areas including administration, finance, trade, infrastructure, health, telecommunications, legal affairs and security.

ECOWAS said it is seeking, “Qualified and capable candidates” to fill both technical and administrative positions within its various institutions.

The recruitment exercise covers dozens of vacancies across different locations, with many positions based in Abuja and others in cities such as Dakar, Conakry, Addis Ababa, and Liberia.

Some of the advertised roles include office aides, programme assistants, accountants, legal officers, political advisers, as well as senior-level positions such as directors and principal officers.

The organisation stated that all applications must include a completed application form, a curriculum vitae, and a cover letter, all of which must be submitted via email before the deadline.

According to the notice, applications opened on April 1, 2026, and will close on April 30, 2026.

ECOWAS also outlined age requirements for applicants by job category. It stated that candidates for general service positions must be no older than 35 years, while applicants for professional roles must be no older than 45 years. Director-level applicants, it said, must not exceed 50 years of age.

The regional bloc further noted that female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, adding that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

It also highlighted several of its core focus areas, including macroeconomic policy, agriculture, energy, education, political affairs and anti-money laundering.

Prospective applicants were advised to regularly visit the official ECOWAS website for details of available vacancies and application procedures.

ECOWAS also stressed that its recruitment process is completely free of charge and does not require any payment or submission of bank details from applicants.
