The Edo State House of Assembly has cleared Hon. Samson Raphael Osagie as the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General Designate.
However, the clearance of Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, son of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, was delayed until the next plenary on Monday.
The move follows the appointment by the newly sworn in 6th Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for the two commissioner nominees, read at the plenary by the Clerk of the House, Audu Yahaya Omogbai,
Speaker Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku emphasised Osagie’s cognitive experience, having served in various capacities, including twice in the state and National Assembly House.
Agbebaku said the decision to get him cleared is part of some of the privileges enjoyed by the former lawmaker who will now serve in the capacity of the Attorney general of the state.
The Assembly also passed a motion urging the state government and security services to address rising kidnappings, cultism, and related killings.
