The award was conferred on him at an event organised by the union to mark World Press Freedom Day with the theme ” A Press For The Planet: Journalism In The Face Of Environmental Crisis,” held at the press centre in Benin City.

Uzamere who spoke shortly after receiving the award, was represented by the director, Design and Consultancy of the ministry, Engr. Wilson Asemota. He thanked the union for finding him worthy of the Award of Excellence for hard work and service to humanity.

He used the opportunity to appreciate the good people of the state for voting and standing by Governor Godwin Obaseki all these years.

“It is with utmost sincerity and joy that I receive this prestigious award owing to the ceaseless developmental strides, road rehabilitation, construction, and infrastructural revolution, all of which have been recorded from the Edo State Public Service over the years since the inception of this current administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki which has brought significant developments in Edo through various reforms and projects carried out thus far,” he said.
