The deputy governor of Edo State, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has mourned the passing of Hon. Charles Idahosa, an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader and former commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state.
In a condolence message by his chief press secretary, Mr Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor described Idahosa as an astute political leader who spoke truth to power.
He noted that Charles Idahosa who remained politically relevant since the advent of the present Nigerian democracy, built bridges across the three senatorial districts of Edo State.
According to him, “He was a dedicated public servant, seasoned administrator, and committed party man whose contributions to governance and political development in Edo state would be greatly missed.
“He was a passionate advocate for the progress of Edo state, whose legacy of humility, service, and commitment to the people would remain enduring.”
Idahosa extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased immediate family, the people of Ehor, the leadership and members of the APC in Edo State, as well as his numerous friends, colleagues, and political associates.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and grant the departed eternal rest.
Until his death, Idahosa served as the leader of the APC in Uhunmwode Local Government Area. Over the years he held several key positions at both state and national levels, including Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Edo State.
Idahosa was also a one time Special Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Director General of the Edo State Liaison Office in Abuja, Board Member of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and Board Member of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
