Edo Gets New Police Commissioner

Mr. Umoru Ozigi has assumed duty as the new commissioner of police in Edo State.

A statement by the state police command through its spokesman,  Joel Yamu, said Ozigi who hails from Adavi in Kogi State, is a graduate of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.

He enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, and trained in the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.

He served in various capacities within the last 30 years, and was the Commissioner of Police, Force Provost Marshal, Force Headquarters, Abuja. The statement said the new commissioner is mindful of the yearnings of the people of Edo State in terms of security and safety, and is soliciting the cooperation of the public to subdue all forms of crime and criminality in the state.
