Edo Gov’t Begins Repair Of Failed Sections On Benin-Ekpoma Highway

The Edo State Government has commenced repairs on some failed portions along the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi Highway, in fulfilment of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s pledge to ensure ease of movement of people and goods from different parts of the country into the state.

The ever-busy highway has over the years been in a deplorable condition, exposing commuters to untold hardship before accessing their various destinations.

Governor Okpebholo, upon assumption of office, embarked on reconstruction and repair of roads across the state with an assurance to Edo people to provide motorable roads.

Barely a month in office, the Governor has embarked on reconstruction of some failed portions of the Benin Ekpoma-Auchi expressway by Obadan Junction, Upper Mission Extension by Aduwawa junction, Temboga Road and Upper Ekenwan Road, among others.

Some roads already being fixed by the Okpebholo-led administration include the Ehor-Ekpoma axis and others along the route in his bid to ensure that the roads are in good shape ahead of the rainy season.

 

Governor Okpebholo was at Uromi, Esan North-East local government to inspect a 32km access road to the Federal Science And Technology College, Uromi, which are at various stages of completion.

 

The Governor in company of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, John Obanor; Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarrett Tenebe and some government officials also inspected the Onewa Primary School Road by Utako Junction in Uromi and other adjoining roads in the area.

 

Elated residents in the rural area were full of praises to Governor Okpebholo for revisiting the roads after years of abandonment.
