The ever-busy highway has over the years been in a deplorable condition, exposing commuters to untold hardship before accessing their various destinations.

Governor Okpebholo, upon assumption of office, embarked on reconstruction and repair of roads across the state with an assurance to Edo people to provide motorable roads.

Barely a month in office, the Governor has embarked on reconstruction of some failed portions of the Benin Ekpoma-Auchi expressway by Obadan Junction, Upper Mission Extension by Aduwawa junction, Temboga Road and Upper Ekenwan Road, among others.
