The newly turbanned traditional ruler of Iyuku Community in Edo State, Chief Bawalkson Zekeriyahu Ilegieunu has said that he would ensure he makes a difference as a traditional ruler.
He made the promise at a gathering of crème de la crème and a combination of different professionals from all walks of life who gathered to celebrate the coronation of the community head of Iyuku, Chief Bawalkson Ilegieunu.
The historic celebration which brought together Iyuku sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora marked the launching of a new Palace for the “Okwi-Iyukugbe of Iyuku, Chief Bawalkson Zekeriyahu Ilegieuno.
The celebration of the turbaning of Chief Bawalkson Zekeriyahu Ilegieunu as Community Head of Iyuku by HRH, Alhaji Kadiri Imonikhe Omogbai, the Ogieneni of Uzairue kingdom has been adjudged as a peace path to unite Iyuku and to have a progressive community.
Edo State deputy governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu who was chairman of the occasion congratulated Chief Ilegieuno, the Adorolo II of Iyuku community and emphasized unity in the community noting that the best way to have a progressive and attractive Iyuku, is to institute and embrace peace.
Lauding the presence of dignitaries, the commitment of Iyuku sons and daughters worldwide, the Ogneni-In-Council and above all, the Ogieneni of Uzairue were commended for their leadership and wisdom in ruling over the affairs of the Uzairue kingdom.
Commending the Ogieneni of Uzairue for appointing him as the community head of Iyuku, Ilegieuno said his choice is a reflection of love the Ogieneni has for Iyuku Community.
Chief Ilegieuno therefore assured the Ogieneni and the people of Iyuku that his reign as the community head of Iyuku would herald peace and progress in Iyuku.
He also assured them that his appointment will change the narration of Iyuku for the best interest of the community and Uzairue at large. The traditional ruler told LEADERSHIP Sunday that his predecessors had done their part.
While saluting them, he wished them rest adding that God has made him, through the Ogieneni of Uzairue with the unwavering support of Iyuku community to succeed the throne of leadership of Iyuku.
