Education College Gets Acting Provost

Abia State government has appointed the deputy provost of the State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, Dr Abdulkarim Jibril, as the acting provost of the college.

This followed the suspension of the provost, Prof Vincent Onwe “with immediate effect” as indicated in a directive made by the acting secretary of the government, Ikechukwu Uwanna,

Announced over the state’s radio station, Broadcasting Corporation of Abia yesterday, LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered in Umuahia, the capital that the decision had been approved by the governor.

The announcement indicated that it was part of an ongoing administrative process aimed at promoting transparency, accountability and effective functioning of the institution.

“All staff, students and stakeholders of the institution are directed to accord the acting provost full cooperation and support as he discharges his responsibilities.
