EFCC Recovers Over N231bn, $70m In One Year

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered N231,623,186,004.74 between May 2023 and May 2024.

Available statistics from the EFCC sources also showed that within the same period, the anti graft agency recovered $70,260,544.18 US Dollars, £29,264.50 Great Britain Pounds, and 208,297.10 Euros in various anti-corruption wars.

Also, the EFCC recovered INDIAN RUPEE 51,360.00 Indian Rupee, while 3,950.00 Canadian Dollars were also recovered from the investigations of some politically exposed persons.

Also, Australian $740.00, Rand35,000.00, UAE dirhams 42,390.00, Riyals 247.00, and Yuan ¥74,754.00 were all proceeds of corruption recovered in the same period.

In the areas of investigation and prosecutions, the EFCC was also very busy within the same year.
Between May 2023 and May 2024, the EFCC received 15,753 petitions alleging corruption and fraud nationwide.

The EFCC also secured 3,451 convictions; some of the court cases are ongoing so that more convictions may be secured.
