The chairman, Yobe State Pilgrims’ Commission Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, has received the prestigious award of “The Most Discipline State Officials” by the Independent Hajj Reporters.
A statement issued by the Information Officer of the Commission Suleiman said the award presentation, which took place at the Central Mosque Abuja was attended by religious leaders, government officials among many other dignitaries.
The former Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Professor Shehu Makarfi has while presenting the award to the chairman on behalf of the reporters, congratulated Yobe for emerging best in discipline and coordination during the 2024 hajj exercise.
He said, “The Chairman was recognised for the award over his exemplary leadership, dedication, and effective coordination in managing 2024 pilgrims-related activities.”
Makarfi said Yobe has demonstrated special concern to the pilgrims especially the provision SR300 to each pilgrim by the Yobe State Government in addition to ensuring that no pilgrim was left in Saudi Arabia.
“The Yobe pilgrims were well-coordinated, with provisions for feeding, accommodation, transportation, and health facilities, among others.
“The award acknowledges Yobe State Pilgrims’ commission outstanding commitment to ensuring the safety, comfort, and welfare of pilgrims during their spiritual journey.
“Under his leadership, the Yobe State Pilgrims’ Commission successfully implemented a comprehensive coordination strategy that streamlined operations, enhanced communication, and provided timely assistance to pilgrims in need.”
The Chairman Mai Aliyu has while responding attributed the award to numerous support the commission enjoyed by the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni towards the welfare of pilgrims.
“We cannot thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN enough for his support to the commission.
“This award is equally a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.
“We remain committed to providing the highest standard of care and support to all pilgrims, ensuring their journey is as smooth and spiritually fulfilling as possible.”
The chairman said the award will further spur the entire staff of the commission to do even more in the future.
