Buni had in a Sallah message issued by the director general Press Affairs and Media, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, highlighted the significance of the Eid festival, urging citizens to uphold the values of sacrifice, charity, and love, and to extend it to neighbours, regardless of political, religious, or cultural differences.

The governor described the Eid celebration as a renewed opportunity for both residents and pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to offer prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Yobe State and Nigeria at large.
Buni used the forum and pledged increased investment and dedication over the next two years to boost sustainable security, agricultural growth, as well as infrastructural development across the state.
He called on citizens to seize the opportunities of the rainy season to intensify agricultural activities in the interest of food security and economic advancement.

Governor Buni also cautioned communities in the riverine and flood-prone areas to remain alert and adhere to warnings and advice from relevant authorities to mitigate the risk of flooding during the rainy season.

He expressed appreciation to the people of Yobe for their steadfastness, cooperation, and unwavering support for government programmes and initiatives, describing it as the driving force behind the administration’s progress.

The Governor also lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, vigilante groups, and local hunters for their commitment to strengthening security in the state.

“We should continue to cooperate and support the security agencies with credible and timely information to promote a proactive approach to collectively fight against insecurity.”

The governor prayed for a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration for the people of Yobe and Nigeria and urged parents to remain vigilant over their children while advising motorists to avoid reckless driving during the festivities.
