The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 3,000 personnel to man security across the state during and after the Sallah celebration.
The state agency spokesman, Ayoola Michael, disclosed this yesterday.
He said the deployed personnel will provide security across the state’s 16 local government areas, “with special attention given to high-risk areas such as black spots, flashpoints, vulnerable locations, and places with frequent criminal activities.”
Michael said the NSCDC commandant in the state had instructed area commanders, tactical commanders, and divisional officers to conduct continuous patrols and ensure extensive deployment to ensure a smooth and safe Sallah celebration.
He added:” Commandant Umar issued a stern warning to miscreants, vandals, and other potential troublemakers planning to disrupt the peace and order during the festive period to desist from such actions. He stressed that the command is fully prepared and equipped to enforce the law, ensuring offenders face the full consequences of their actions.
“While congratulating Muslim faithful in the state on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, he urged them to support the NSCDC and other security agencies by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities that could threaten the peace and stability of the state.”
