Kogi State governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on Nigerians to join hands and support President Bola Tinubu so that he can achieve his laudable programmes and policies for the country.

Governor Ododo made the call in his Sallah message to the people of the state in his hometown of Okene shortly after he observed the Eid prayer to mark the Eid-el-Kabir festival yesterday.

He urged Nigerians to join hands and support the president’s many initiatives to move the nation forward regardless of their political affiliation.

Regarding the state’s security situation, Governor Ododo reaffirmed that his administration would continue prioritising security issues, stressing that Kogi State would never be a fertile land for criminals to practice their dubious and ungodly trade.

The governor warned criminal elements if there were any, to move out of the state or they would face the full wrath of the law and the security agencies.

While felicitating with Muslims, Governor Ododo urged the people of the state to reflect on the spirit of the Sallah celebration to sacrifice more in the name of Allah and to commit to actions that uplift the state and country at large.

“As a government, we are committed to protecting lives and property and promoting social welfare by delivering dividends of democracy to enhance the living conditions of our people at all times.

“Let us be security conscious and consistently watch our neighbourhoods and be prepared to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agents in all our communities,” he stated.

In his Sallah message, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Ahmed Tijani Anaje cautioned his people against disobedience and behaviour that can impede the peaceful coexistence of the habitants of his domain.

The royal father congratulated Muslims and urged them to imbibe the teachings of the religion by constantly emulating the prophet Muhammad’s deeds and ways of life.

The Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheik Salihu Abere, prayed to God to give the governor the strength and patience to manage the state’s affairs.

He called on Muslims to love one another and extend that to non-Muslims in the spirit of peace and unity, as exemplified by the holy prophet Muhammad.
