Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the state, Nigeria, and across the globe on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Maulud, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
In a goodwill message to the state’s people, Mohammed described the celebration as a period of joy, spiritual reflection, and a unique opportunity for them to emulate the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He urged the faithful to uphold the values of peace, love, compassion, generosity, tolerance, humility, honesty, and selflessness as taught by the Prophet.
The governor stressed that Eid-el-Maulud provides an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, promote unity, and foster peaceful coexistence.
Mohammed also called on the people of the state to continue to live in peace and harmony irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political differences, and to offer prayers for lasting peace and stability in Bauchi and the nation at large, especially in the face of current security challenges.
He acknowledged the residents’ economic hardship and assured them of his administration’s unwavering commitment to implementing measures to provide relief and improve their well-being. He reiterated the government’s determination to maintain law and order, emphasising that security agencies are working around the clock to safeguard life and property across the State.
The governor disclosed that an interfaith committee, comprising Muslim scholars and Christian clergymen, has been constituted to sensitise communities in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas on the need for peaceful coexistence, following recent politically motivated unrest in the guise of farmers-herders’ conflicts.
