The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the opening of its online media accreditation portal for the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for 2026.
According to the commission, the portal officially opened on April 8, 2026, for media organisations seeking to cover the #EkitiDecides2026 election.
INEC urged interested media outfits to complete their applications within the stipulated window, noting that the deadline for submission is midnight on June 7, 2026.
The electoral body emphasised that the accreditation portal will automatically shut down at the deadline, warning that late applications will not be considered under any circumstance.
It also advised media organisations to apply early to avoid last-minute challenges that could hinder successful registration.
