According to a statement by DSP Sunday Abutu, the Police Public Relations Officer, the command is actively pursuing the fleeing suspects who abandoned the vehicles following a high-speed chase by the police.

CP Ogundare Dare, the State Commissioner of Police, conducted an on-site assessment of the armed robbery incident in Ikere-Ekiti. Expressing dissatisfaction over the unfortunate occurrence, the Commissioner directed the Ikere Area Commander and all Tactical Teams within the command to ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.

While extending condolences to the affected families and wishing a speedy recovery to those receiving medical attention, CP Dare urged citizens to remain calm, assuring that the police force is relentless in their pursuit of the criminals, ensuring they face justice.

Upon receiving immediate information, the command’s tactical units and the deployed military engaged the hoodlums, leading to the recovery of the three vehicles and two motorcycles used in the operation. The suspects managed to escape into the nearby bushes.
