Ekiti State government has approved the procurement of a soft-ware based platform to help project officers and executives manage their project monitoring and performance tracking activities.
This was part of the efforts geared towards ensuring that government projects are well executed, delivered on time and ultimately be of value to the targeted beneficiaries.

The state’s commissioner for information, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, who disclosed this in Ado Ekiti, said the Strategic Project Monitoring System (SPMS), a.k.a. “DASHBOARD” is expected to boost collaboration between project team members and the executives by providing Governments with a point of truth for project information.

Olatunbosun said, “The DASHBOARD comes with an internal use soft-ware that digitises project files and pictures to be accessible easily and securely online which would assist in actualizing Ekiti Performance, Assessment, Improvement Report (EKPAIR) goals and objectives that could be used in tracking activities of the MDAs.
He continued, “Experiences and feedback obtained revealed that tracking of activities using an automated software-based system is essential to help fast-track the monitoring of activities/programmes of MDAs which would ultimately lead to more efficient and effective in-service delivery to the state”.

The director-general/special adviser, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), Dr. John Ekundayo, in his remarks, listed other benefits of the software as proper execution and timely delivery of projects to the residents while project files and pictures would be digitalised to make them secure and easily accessible online thus allowing prompt access to project information for executive decision making with the governor easy access anywhere without the usual cumbersome consultation.

Stressing that the system also has the ability to expunge duplicated information on the database, Ekundayo said it would, in addition, block all forms of financial leakages consequently, saving money for the state that can be used for other projects.
