According to the magazine’s Real-Time Billionaires tracker, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO briefly reached a net worth of $500.1 billion before dipping to $499.1 billion.

The milestone comes as Tesla rebounds following recent political controversies and gains in its other ventures.

Following Musk on the Forbes list is Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, with $350.7 billion, followed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, with $245.8 billion.

Musk, 54, made millions in 1999 after selling his online publishing software company to Compaq for over $300 million.

He later co-founded X.com, which merged with PayPal, before launching SpaceX in 2002 and joining Tesla as chairman in 2004.
