Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, has announced some major feature additions to the popular microblogging platform.

Shortly after slamming Meta’s WhatsApp, Musk said Twitter will get video, audio calls and encrypted chat features soon.

He disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday adding that the latest version of Twitter will enable users reply to any message in a thread.

He said the encrypted DMs V1.0 trial will commence on May 11, 2023.

He, however, explained that the voice and video chat features would not necessarily mean giving out users’ phone numbers.
