A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Akinlayo Kolawole, has appealed to the protesters against bad governance to end action and embrace

dialogue as a means of addressing their concerns rather than protests.

Kolawole, who represents the Ido/Osi/Moba/Ilejemeje Federal Constituency of Ekiti State, called on Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which inherited a troubled nation.

The lawmaker, who stated these while briefing parliamentary reporters in Abuja on Monday, also declared that there was no protest in Ekiti State due to Governor Abayomi Oyebanji’s good governance and urged other subnationals to always compliment the efforts of the Federal Government.

He expressed confidence that the President Tinubu-led government would do what was needed as the administration was relatively new and inherited a faulty system, which it worked assiduously to fix.

“If you inherit a terrible structure, it will take a while to repair it and make it stand solid. So, I beg all of us and the press people to also be patient with the government in power.

“I promise that the government will do what is needed. We all know that. As we get the youth protesting, I will visit them and advise. Also, I beg them to please dialogue. Because if you look at the crisis in Iran, if you look at the crisis in Russia and Ukraine for the past almost two years, they have been fighting, and no solution is in place.

“But if they come to the table, that crisis will be resolved. So, I want our youth to consider the olive branch the president has offered them to go to the table for dialogue.

“So whatever demand they have, they can table it before the government. The one the government can do immediately is offer it. The one they can do in a long-time process; they will also let them know.

“Dialogue is better than protest. We advise our youth and compatriots to be patient with the government. The government will do what is necessary at the right time,” Kolawole said.
