Emir of Damaturu Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn Elkenemi has called on youths to engage in farming to become self-reliant, as governments alone cannot provide everything for the people.
The monarch disclosed this in his Sallah Massage in Damaturu Yobe State capital, and emphasised the need for youths to engage in small scale businesses to become self-reliant and productive.
He called on the parents and guardians to enrol their children on Western and Islammiya schools, pointing out that education is the backbone of every society.
He expressed dismay over the vandalisation of critical infrastructure in the region, which caused severe setbacks in the economic activities and difficulties across the state.
The monarch urged the people to continue praying to Almighty Allah as prayer is the weapon for every Muslim, and seek Allah’s forgiveness and desist from other social vices.
The emir charged them to continue praying for peace, good governance, progress, and bountiful agricultural harvest in the state and Nigeria.
He commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for making Yobe proud and for ensuring the safety of the people and their property.
