Emzor Pharmaceutical Company has celebrated its 40th anniversary with a thanksgiving dinner while unveiling a N1 billion anti-drug abuse fund under its Emzor Wellness Foundation.

In 1984, Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited was set up to engage in pharmaceutical manufacturing. A year later, the company’s flagship product, Emzor Paracetamol, was launched.

Emzor team leader, Dr. Stella Chinyelu Okoli, said at the anniversary; “Emzor’s commitment to the highest quality and international best practices is unquestionable. All our products are duly registered with NAFDAC. Emzor is a success because of its people. The management style is participatory, and team leaders are people with vast experience and comprehensive education.

“EMZOR has now developed one of the largest state-of-the-art pharmaceutical plants in Africa. Located on more than 60 hectares of land in Shagamu Ogun State, the factory also has one of the first Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, API plants on the continent. This will promote healthcare security for the nation and the continent at large while reducing our dependence on imported raw materials.

“In our continuous desire to touch lives and make a difference, our humanitarian programs are now promoted under our corporate social responsibility platform – The Emzor Wellness Foundation. The Foundation is introducing a fund to be used for critical interventions to help and rehabilitate victims of drug abuse.”
