In an effort to ensure energy accountability and more accuracy in its billing, Kaduna Electric is currently installing new meters to all Maximum Demand (MD) customers across the company’s franchise.

Inspecting the progress of work in Kaduna, a team of engineers from the company, led by the chief commercial officer, Engr. Asma’u Ahmed and the Head, Non-MD Meters, Engr. Umar Adamu Gumel, went round the premises of some Maximum Demand (MD) customers to ensure that all the meters are properly installed.

Speaking on the exercise, Engr Gumel said “the exercise is geared towards reducing the current level of Aggregate Technical  Commercial & Collection (ATC&C) losses in the company. He however said, ‘’the team observed some non-compliance to standard practices by the contractor during the installation and has directed the vendor to make the necessary corrections”.

He said Kaduna Electric’s team will keep a close watch on the installation exercise to ensure that high standards are maintained by the use of acceptable high quality materials.

He assured customers that the huge investment in metering made by the company is to give the customers more value for their money, and called on them to make judicious use of the meters and avoid tampering with them.

He advised customers to cooperate fully with the installers for a successful exercise.
