The recognition further underscored her expanding footprint in Africa’s evolving creative and entrepreneurial economy, where she has continued to distinguish herself through strategic business leadership, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and impactful community-centred initiatives.

Stakeholders within the entrepreneurship ecosystem described Amb. Dr Ekwutoziam is one of the emerging enterprise-focused voices championing African creativity, indigenous brand visibility, enterprise sustainability, and women’s empowerment through transformative business engagements and mentorship-driven initiatives.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Amb. Dr Ekwutoziam commended the organisers of the African 2S Iconic Open Recognition Awards for sustaining a platform that recognises excellence, innovation, and enterprise leadership across the African continent.

She noted that celebrating entrepreneurs and innovators remains critical to strengthening Africa’s economic future, stimulating enterprise development, encouraging innovation, and inspiring young Africans to pursue sustainable businesses capable of creating employment opportunities and socioeconomic impact.

According to her, the recognition would further inspire her commitment towards expanding opportunities within the fashion and enterprise ecosystem while continuing to support initiatives that promote youth entrepreneurship, women-led businesses, and indigenous African enterprise development.

She also emphasised the need for increased investment, strategic collaboration, and innovation-driven partnerships to position African-owned brands for global competitiveness and long-term economic sustainability.
