An entrepreneur, Ms Ann Uche, has urged Nigerian youths to embrace acquisition of quality skills that would make them relevant to the society.
Uche, who has founded and nurtured three thriving brands across diverse sectors, said she believes that skills acquisition is the surest pathway to empowerment, financial freedom and nation-building.
She tasked the youth at a forum in Lagos, urging them to dedicate themselves to at least a skill and develop the skills relevant for their careers, stressing that failure is not an option.
Ms Uche, who conceived Avyo Food & Drinks, Belzkim World, and Velstand Global Estate, said, “Every young Nigerian must look within, discover their inner strength and harness it.
“The reality is that paid jobs are limited, but opportunities through skills are unlimited. A skill today can open doors to financial independence tomorrow. If you want to stand out, invest in yourself by learning a skill.”
She admonished youths to continue to improve their skills and leverage technology, saying, “Today’s youths should continue to improve, deploy their skills and maximize their talents, honing it to the degree that they can be employed in the market.”
