Entrepreneurship often comes with challenges. Can you highlight some of the obstacles you’ve faced and how you overcame them?

One of the notable challenges we have faced at Lo’meedar Fresh has been navigating economic challenges such as rising costs of ingredients, logistics, and inflation have all impacted our operations. However, as a brand committed to using premium, healthy ingredients, we have had to constantly innovate to maintain quality while managing costs. This has meant optimizing our supply chain, and streamlining our menu to focus on bestsellers.

Another key challenge has been creating awareness and educating people about healthier alternatives in a market where fast food is often more accessible. We have tackled this by investing in brand storytelling, community engagement, and offering samples at events to let our products speak for themselves. Building a loyal customer base has taken time, but consistency in quality and experience has been our strongest asset.

Many aspiring entrepreneurs look for guidance. What advice would you offer to those hoping to build a thriving business in this space?

Start with purpose, and let that guide your every decision. Understand your market, test your products, and always listen to feedback. Invest in branding and customer experience, it is what sets you apart. Also, stay consistent. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but with persistence and heart, your brand will thrive.

Finally, don’t be afraid to start small, just take that bold step and start.

What inspired you to venture into the world of beverages—particularly parfaits, Greek yogurts, and juices?

I have always believed that food should nourish both the body and soul. As a busy mom of three, I understand the everyday challenge of balancing convenience with healthy choices. Lo’meedar Fresh was born out of my desire to make nutritious eating simple, accessible, and delicious for families. My goal was to redefine fast food making it both wholesome and indulgent, without compromise.

The seeds of this vision were planted in my childhood. My father was deeply committed to healthy living, always choosing fruits and clean nourishing meals and I grew up watching my mother lovingly prepare them. Together, they modeled a lifestyle where wellness through food was a daily priority, and that deeply shaped my values. That early influence shaped my own habits and passion for healthy eating. With Lo’meedar Fresh, I am proud to carry that legacy forward and share it with others in a flavorful, joyful way.

Every business has its journey. Could you share the key moments that have defined the success of Lo’meedar Fresh?

Lo’meedar Fresh began humbly in a small kitchen, hand-delivering our treats to a growing circle of health-conscious customers. From those early days, we have evolved into a recognizable health food brand with loyal followings in both Nigeria and Canada.

Our growth has been fueled by passion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to quality. We have showcased at major food fairs both in Nigeria and Canada. For example, the Lagos Food Festival and the recently concluded GTCO Food and Drinks Festival, New Brunswick New Comers event, Saint John City Market vendors event, where we had the privilege of connecting with thousands of customers and building our community.

A major highlight in our journey has been expanding into the Canadian market. We have actively participated in several pop-up events, including the Saint John City Market, where the feedback and reception have been overwhelmingly positive. This international growth is not just a business milestone, but a testament to the universal demand for fresh, wholesome, and delicious food. From heartfelt customer support to exciting brand collaborations, each success reaffirms our vision and fuels our drive to reach even more people all around the world with healthier options.

The success story of Lo’meedar Fresh would be incomplete without acknowledging the unwavering support of my husband, my mother, my sister, and my entire family. Their encouragement, especially during our expansion into the Canadian market, was invaluable. I am equally grateful to my dedicated team members, whose hard work and belief in the vision have been instrumental to our growth.

The food and beverage industry can be competitive. How profitable has this business model been for you?

Like many food businesses, it takes intentionality, consistency, and creativity to remain profitable. Thankfully, we have found our niche and built a strong customer base that values quality, wellness, and transparency. While the food and beverage space is competitive, our unwavering commitment to food safety, high-quality ingredients, freshness, and customer experience has set us apart. These values have made the business not only sustainable but also deeply rewarding, both financially and in terms of the impact we make on our customers’ health.

Your professional path has likely been filled with unique experiences. Could you walk us through your background and some of your noteworthy achievements?

I hold a Master’s degree (with Distinction) in Business Analysis and Management from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, as well as an MBA in Business Development and Professional Sales from the University of New Brunswick Saint John, Canada.

My professional journey has evolved from working as a Management Consultant with medium and large enterprises to serving as a Business Systems Analyst, where I combine strategic insight with technical expertise to drive operational efficiency and business transformation.

With a solid foundation in business and IT, I have always been passionate about structure, strategy, and leveraging technology to fuel growth. These analytical and strategic thinking skills have played a pivotal role in building and scaling Lo’meedar Fresh. Beyond our product offerings, I take immense pride in the health-conscious community we are cultivating and the culture of wellness we’re fostering.
