The people of Umuojor Village in Ishiagu Community of Ezeagu local government area of Enugu State have formally disowned a suspected billionaire native doctor, a prime suspect in ritual killings in the village, identified as High Chief Levi Onyeka Obu nicknamed “Ezeani” and “E-Dey-Play-E-Dey-Show.”

Decomposing bodies meant for rituals were recently discovered at the shrine of the popular native doctor.

Sources alleged that the victims were buried alive for ritual purposes.

The decomposing bodies were discovered buried in a concrete-sealed pit within an uncompleted building, owned and used as a shrine but for heinous criminal activities by the fleeing prime suspect.

A 13-year-old girl suspected to have been kidnapped and kept for ritual was recently rescued from the shrine.

Perturbed by the disgrace brought to their community by the rituals, members of the village have carried out a peaceful protest with placards bearing different inscriptions to announce the suspect’s banishment and the cleansing of their land.

The protest was also to tell the whole world that they are not known for rituals and kidnapping.

Speaking during the exercise in their village, Mr Ikechukwu Onwuama, the Igwe in Council said they have excommunicated the arrested suspected ritualist and banished him from their community, saying that their hands are clean.

Also speaking, a village head, Fabian Okeke said over the years the suspect has been parading himself as a native doctor but they did not know that he was a ritualist until security operatives made the discovery.

He expressed happiness that the 13-year-old girl, whom he said is from the next village, was rescued alive, adding that they did not know that the suspect had a pit where he used to bury human beings.

An indigenous priest, Emeka Onwuama who also spoke, said the suspect is no longer their brother, adding that it was unfortunate that he opened his doors for satan.
