The chairman of Enugu State Internal Revenue Service, Ekene Nnamani disclosed this while briefing journalists as part of activities marking their one year anniversary.

He further explained that the decision to increase the gateway to six from the one payment gateway they inherited was to make it easier for people to pay their taxes without stress.

Nnamani told journalists that they have activated many taxes that were hitherto dormant, adding that the state also introduced the consolidated e-ticket tax collection system in the informal sector.

He noted that through geographic information system which they bought into, they have been able to identify over 290,000 properties in the state.

Nnamani pointed out that they want to make sure that the properties pay and operate the land-use act which they also activated.
