The chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force, Senator Osita Ngwu, has lauded the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its intensified operations against terrorism, describing its recent efforts as strategic and impactful.

Ngwu commended the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for driving a more focused and coordinated approach to tackling insecurity across the country.

He noted that the Air Force’s emphasis on advanced technology, intelligence-led missions, and strengthened training initiatives has considerably improved the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

According to the lawmaker, who represents Enugu West in the Senate, the deployment of precision airstrikes alongside enhanced intelligence collaboration was producing tangible gains in disrupting terrorist activities and restoring calm in troubled areas.

Ngwu also recognised the role of the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu, praising its continued commitment to supporting the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

While acknowledging that improved provision of essential resources has boosted military performance, he stressed that greater financial investment remains crucial, given the high cost of sustaining counter-insurgency operations.

The Senator reaffirmed the commitment of the National Assembly to supporting the military through its relevant committees, particularly those overseeing Air Force operations.

“The National Assembly remains resolute in its duty to support our gallant men and women in uniform. We will continue to provide the legislative backing required to ensure that the fight against terrorism is sustained and ultimately won,” he assured.

Ngwu further called on Nigerians to actively support security agencies by remaining vigilant and sharing credible intelligence that could aid ongoing operations.
