The West African regional director for Inter-Governmental Affairs at the International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS) in the USA, Dr Jim Chimezie Okolo, has visited the Nigerian Consulate in New York for a meeting with Ambassador Nasir Aminu, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ethiopia.

They discussed the relationship between Nigeria and Ethiopia, diaspora engagement, continental cooperation and Nigeria’s role in African affairs.

During their discussions, Okolo and Ambassador Aminu identified opportunities for stronger diaspora participation, improved diplomatic cooperation and strategies to advance Nigeria’s interests within Africa and the global community.

The meeting underscored the need to enhance collaboration between Nigeria and Ethiopia, where the African Union (AU) is headquartered. They also explored how the Nigerian diaspora can contribute more effectively to national development and international engagement.

Currently, Okolo is the West African regional director for Inter-Governmental Affairs at the International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS) in the USA.
