A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Augustine Ojiezele, has been awarded an honourary doctorate degree by Estag University Cotonou in Benin Republic.
A statement by his chief press secretary, Hon. Hamza Auta Mohammed said he extended gratitude to the university for the honour.
The statement said Ojiezele firmly believes the honour would help him in his forthcoming gubernatorial campaign in Edo State in 2024.
“The coveted honorary doctorate degree, which was bestowed upon Dr. Ojiezele by Estag University serves as a testament to his exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions to society. Being recognised for his unwavering commitment to public service, leadership and the betterment of his community deeply humbles him.
“Throughout his remarkable career, Dr. Ojiezele has consistently demonstrated exemplary dedication and an unwavering commitment to the development and progress of Edo State. With this honorary recognition, he perceives an even stronger platform from which to address the pressing issues that face Edo State in the upcoming gubernatorial elections,” he said.
Ejiezele promised to strengthen the educational sector in the area infrastructure, social amenities and job creation among others for the good of Edo state and Nigeria at large.
He said as Dr. Ojiezele’s gubernatorial campaign approaches in 2024, he intends to leverage on the authority and recognition provided by Estag University’s honorary doctorate degree with the belief that the it would instill confidence and trust among the electorate.
