The European Union (EU), United Nations Development Programme, (UNDP) and Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) have solicited partnership to create sustainable employment opportunities for young people and strengthen the Delta State workforce.
The collaboration funded by the EU and implemented by the UNDP in collaboration with the federal government is meant to provide opportunities for young people to gain practical workplace experience, while also helping participating organisations improve their operations.
The senior special assistant to the president on delivery and coordination, office of the vice president, Okubo Adegbe, during a stakeholders’ engagement and conversation on the future of Delta’s workforce held in Warri said the engagement was aimed at examining how the programme could be improved to deliver greater value to participating businesses and young Nigerians.
While encouraging businesses and private-sector organisations in Delta state to partner with the programme, Adele said the objective was not only to place young people in organisations but also to ensure continuous improvement of the programme and its long-term sustainability.
