The Association of Professional Party Planners and Event Managers of Nigeria (APPOEMN) is repositioning for growth with a view to be relevant and render improved services to clients.
Similarly, the group elected Oluwafunbi Akinyosoye as its fourth president, succeeding Adefunke Kuyoro who was the immediate past president.
The move was made to increase productivity and position the association for global market. Oluwafunbi Akinyosoye is the CEO of Dunamis Events, seasoned entrepreneur, certified event planner, and a graduate of Marine Biology from the University of Lagos.
Akinyosoye was elected after a keenly contested election alongside other colleagues. Presenting her manifesto with the theme ADVANCE (Accessibility, Development, Visibility, Advocacy, Network, Collaboration, and Exposure), the newly elected president, acknowledged the works of the past leadership of the association and highlighted the need for accelerated growth, collaboration, and progress. She expressed her commitment to serve with utmost humility and a deep sense of responsibility.
The president said: “APPOEMN will adopt an “open-door” policy and ensure inclusiveness for all. Members will be exposed to knowledge in areas relevant to the event industry and personal development, including mental health issues. Members Zoning and Chapter Formation across the 6 Geo-Political Zones are key projects for this dispensation.
As a long term goal, we shall work towards building a multipurpose facility for APPOEMN at the end of our tenure, which will serve as a hub for events of stakeholders.”
To create wider visibility for APPOEMN, Akinyosoye added that the association will develop a sustained awareness strategy through critical partners in the media and advertising space.
The newly elected public relations director, Ebunlomo Taiyese, said the association plans to amplify and build credibility by ensuring consistent awareness, making the association a force to be reckoned with whilst ensuring desired standardization amongst event professionals .

Akinyemi Adenike as Finance Director; Attoh Chinwe as Events & Creative Director; Oyailo Felix as Welfare Director; Funmi Latunji-Oni as Education Director and Segun Okunuga-Logistics Director
