Similarly, the group elected Oluwafunbi Akinyosoye as its fourth president, succeeding Adefunke Kuyoro who was the immediate past president.

The move was made to increase productivity and position the association for global market.  Oluwafunbi Akinyosoye is the CEO of Dunamis Events, seasoned entrepreneur, certified event planner, and a graduate of Marine Biology from the University of Lagos.

Akinyosoye was elected after a keenly contested election alongside other colleagues. Presenting her manifesto with the theme ADVANCE (Accessibility, Development, Visibility, Advocacy, Network, Collaboration, and Exposure), the newly elected president, acknowledged the works of the past leadership of the association and highlighted the need for accelerated growth, collaboration, and progress. She expressed her commitment to serve with utmost humility and a deep sense of responsibility.

The president said: “APPOEMN will adopt an “open-door” policy and ensure inclusiveness for all. Members will be exposed to knowledge in areas relevant to the event industry and personal development, including mental health issues. Members Zoning and Chapter Formation across the 6 Geo-Political Zones are key projects for this dispensation.
