Every Child Has Right To Life – ASPHDA

Executive secretary, Abia State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHDA), Kalu Ulu Kalu has said every child has right to health, hence the need  to present them for immunization programmes.

Ulu Kalu stated this at a meeting to finalized arrangements for the takeoff of the February 4 -14 Measles/Rubella national vaccination campaign in the state in Umuahia, the capital.

Reminding  the public that the vaccination is for children of nine months and 14 years, he called on parents and caregivers to present their children and wards for it.

He challenged the stakeholders and health workers to strive to deliver on their task for the well-being of residents of the state in general and the children in particular.

In his remarks, the chairman of Umuahia North Traditional Rulers Council, Eze innocent Nwigwe assured of the support of the council for the campaign and other such programmes.

The monarch congratulated the agency for coming first in primary healthcare in the country, which he attributed to the commitment of the government and the workers

Other speakers were president, Catholic Doctors’ Association, Umuahia Diocese, Sam Ohaeri, a representative of the Center for Well-Being and Integrated Nutrition Solutions, Nneka Onwubuariri.

The rest were desk officer health, office of the wife of the governor, Vivian Ijeoma,  and a consultant with John Snow Incorporated Chidinma Amuzie who pledged their support to the campaign.
