President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his foreign trips were driven by one overriding purpose — to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs and prosperity for the people.
In a message on his X handle on Thursday shortly after returning from engagements in Japan and Brazil, the President said he remained fully committed to the mandate Nigerians gave him in 2023 to restore the nation’s pride and dignity on the global stage.
According to him, every handshake, agreement and meeting abroad was guided by the people’s interest, not politics or self-glory.
“In Japan, we deepened ties that will bring new investments in industry, technology, and human capital. In Brazil, we advanced partnerships in trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance, while also engaging with our own business leaders to strengthen confidence in our economy,” Tinubu said.
He stressed that his administration was determined to build a Nigeria that is confident abroad and resilient at home, anchored on reforms that will endure beyond the present leadership.
“This is the new Nigeria we are building together — not built on rhetoric but on sustainable reforms that will outlast us. The journey is not without challenges, but with unity of purpose and courage to reform, I firmly believe the best is on the horizon,” the President added.
Tinubu, who noted that Nigerians in the diaspora also remain central to his administration’s agenda, pledged that his government would continue to create value for every citizen.
“God bless our dear country, Nigeria,” the President concluded.
